With both kids gone for the summer, we decided to take a week long road trip up north. We started out with Niagara Falls, Canada, where we saw the falls from the Skylon Tower, the street, down low, behind and inside. At 7 pm all summer long, Jay Cochrane, The Prince of the Air, walks a tightrope between the Skylon Tower and Hilton's 53rd floor. And at nightfall we watched the Fall's light show and fire woks.
Day three, we hopped in the car and drove to visit Aunt Kathey and Uncle Mike in Michigan. They took us out to Lake LeAnn and we enjoyed a beautiful day catching up and fishing.
Last stop on our trip was Chicago, or the Windy City, not because of the wind, but because of its "Windy" politicians. Originally Chicago was called Shikaakwa which means Stinky Onion. In Chicago we went by the Buckingham Fountain, Grant Park during the "Taste of Chicago" and Cloud Gate, or The Bean in Millenium Park. We went up to the 103rd floor of the Sears Tower (now the Willis Tower) and had lunch at Bubba Gump's on the Navy Pier. At sunset, we hopped on the Skyline Sunset Tour on Lake Michigan.
