Jen & Chris - Prom Day 2011
|
During the fall of 2009, Jenna spent one semester at Duveholmsgymnasiet in Sweden. She is up for getting a drivers license and has been taking driving classes from a man who used to be a stunt driver for "Magnum P.I." and the original "Hawaii Five-0" cast.
Chris attended both elementary, middle and high school before leaving Hawaii. To put things in perspective with life as a child in the military, for 9th grade, Chris has attended no less than 9 different schools, and we are very proud of our "military brats" for handling life so well. Chris has taken guitar lessons with Jason at "Hot Licks Guitars, and been involved with the scouts. For a while he loved filming and editing movies, which are available for viewing on YouTube, and towards the end of the Hawaii stay, he started playing keyboard and MicroKorg. Dan worked as an OR-nurse at Tripler Army Medical Center, and during his off time, he went diving, surfing and golfing. In early spring of 2011, he deployed to Afghanistan where he spent six months, before coming back to Hawai`i in time for the move. Li started her own photo business "Total-Li Photography", and spent four years subbing as a PPT or EA in the Special Ed Department at Hickam and Moulele Elementary School, while being Web Master for SWEA International and the kids' schools. Li also became a certified diver, and did a couple of dives around the island. |

Hawai`i vacation
Aside from the regular sightseeing spots like the Dole Plantation, Polynesian Culture Center and Waikiki, we spent quite a few weekends at Pilila`au Army Rec Center or P.A.R.K as we call it, where we rented a cottage right on the beach. We also stayed at Turtle Bay Resort featured in the movie "Soul Surfer" and downtown at Hale Koa, The Army's own hotel with a pool and bar right on the beach.
Thanks to good friends we also had the opportunity to live a few days of luxury life in a four bedroom estate at Makaha Beach.
